POSITION OVERVIEW: Under minimal supervision, identify, develop and implement programs/projects for improvement in manufacturing safety, reliability and cost performance. Through measurement and analysis, recognize opportunities to improve product yield, process efficiency, manufacturing capacity and reduce inventory. Introduce new processes and product to the manufacturing environment. Interface with departments such as planning, manufacturing, product development and quality to improve workflow processes. Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, concepts and methods to achieve goals. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Measures and analyzes existing manufacturing processes on a continuous basis to identify and implement improvements in workflow, throughput, labor efficiency, capacity, cost and quality.Acts as liaison between Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing to facilitate introduction of new products and processes into the manufacturing environment.Partners with Manufacturing and Cost Accounting to review and update Bills of Material, Bills of Labor, etc.Contributes to product line development proposals and long-range plans related to facility growth, introduction of new product lines and facility expansion, etc.Ensures assigned projects and documentation are completed in accordance with the company Quality Management System requirements.Provides training instruction for new processes and equipment introduced to the plant; interfaces with all departments regarding implementation of new processes and improvements to existing products.Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related engineering field; and, 5 - 8 years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and water industry experience, a plus.Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, time studies, operations management, and supply chain integrating areas to support product deliverables.Understanding of labor standards development and analysis of financial impact on organization.Ability to work independently as well as in small or large group and foster cooperation in a team environment using interpersonal skills to influence others.Ability to solve complex technical problems with minimal oversight.Intermediate ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.Ability to effectively present information to staff across the organization in non-technical terms for understanding.Ability to draft well written technical reports to communicate with staff, management and external customers and suppliers.Intermediate to advanced ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, etc.Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD at a basic level.Lean Certification, Green or Black Belt Six Sigma.Implementation of 5S principles, Current and Future State Mapping, Work Cell, Kanban's, etc.Hydranautics offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including PTO, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and much more.
