The City of Hapeville is seeking a motivated individual who has the ability to multitask between Tax Clerk and Customer Service. This is an hourly, non-exempt position. Range $31,513 - $50,722 DOE Under the supervision of the Assistant Finance Director, the purp ose of thi s position i s to provide excellent customer service to all citizens and perform all a c tivit ies relating to tax administration for Hapeville. Duties include maintaining and updating customer accounts and billing record s, and processing request s for City services. Prepare annual tax digest, prepare, and process real property and personal property taxe s, other fees and services; r eview charge tax assessments, review and process tax appeals; prepare bills for mailin g; adjusts inaccurate billings; prepare dupli c ate bills as needed; maintain and update all files and accounts. Perf orm customer serv ice function s provide information/a ss i s tan ce regarding taxes, sa nita tio n bills, utility services, or other issues on the phone or in person ; distributes forms and documentation ; respond to routine questions or complaints; research problems /c omplaints; initiates problem resolution. M aintains the City's property tax records. Maintains contact with staff, vendors and clients and observes confidentiality of resident and City matters. See attached complete job description.
