Our Assistant Golf Superintendent is responsible for the supervision of the entire golf course grounds as well as the golf maintenance team. This leader will be directly involved in the planning, organizing and directing of the daily golf course maintenance of the property. The Assistant Golf Superintendent assists with inventory and control of the department's budget and inventory. Prepares and presents the annual landscape maintenance budget, participates in all recruiting and talent acquisition processes for the department. General Responsibilities Supervise golf course staff and assist the superintendent to ensure that all team members are positive contributors to the team. Procure and maintain an inventory of and supervise the proper use of machinery, chemicals, part, materials and supplies. Communicate with the Golf Pro Shop or Supervisor daily about course conditions or special projects currently taking place. Record required information relating to expenditures, payroll, personnel, operations, equipment, chemicals, fertilizer and safety. Assist the Superintendent in providing golf course staff, including: hiring, firing, training, scheduling and payroll. Assist the Superintendent in providing an inventory of and supervise the proper use of machinery, chemicals, parts, materials and supplies. Appropriate administrative controls of budget, staff and inventory. Assist in recording required information relating to expenditures, payroll, personnel, operations, equipment, chemicals, fertilizer and safety. Develop effective employee and public relations. Fill in for the Superintendent in his/her absence to ensure efficient and smooth operation of the course. Provide organization and direction for staff. Provide clear written and oral communication. Ability to relay company policy and work in its guidelines. All additional duties assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent Job Qualifications Participating knowledge of the game of golf. Experience in budget planning, monitoring and control. Ability to work cooperatively with staff and other resort departments. Have working knowledge of computers and programs such as Word and Excel. Proficient with all equipment used in the maintenance of the golf course. Have strong working knowledge of irrigation and pump systems.
