Director of the Masters in Athletic Training Program

Midland University is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and visionary leader of the Master's in Athletic Training Program (MAT). The Athletic Training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) of Education. The Director is a 12-month position and reports to the Dean of Health Sciences in the College of Health Professions. Review of applications will begin immediately and the position will remain open until filled. Responsibilities: Provide vision, leadership, and management in collaboration with the Dean of Health Sciences to full-time and part-time faculty in the Athletic Traning program. Create and sustain a culture of operational excellence. Support the Strategic Initiatives of the University. Manage accreditation and regulatory agency processes; submit reports and self-studies as required; assure compliance. Assure quality, relevant, outcomes-based curriculum and assessment. Partner with Admissions and Marketing for strategic programmatic growth. Provide input into budget development, administer college budget, provide regular budget analysis to the Dean of Health Sciences Initiate, foster, and maintain relationships and agreements with clinical agencies, community partners, and constituent groups. Develop course and clinical schedules Use data to make decisions and involve faculty where appropriate. Cultivate positive relationships with students that foster academic success. Collaborate closely with the Dean of the School of Health Sciences to promote growth and success of the College of Health Professions. Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Athletic Training or related discipline required. Licensed and in good standing in the State of Nebraska as an Athletic Trainer Certification and in good standing with the Board of Certification/ NPI number as an Athletic Trainer Current expertise in Athletic Training Three years of clinical practice as an Athletic Trainer Demonstrated knowledge of teaching-learning principles, curriculum design, revision, implementation and evaluation; experience with program development. Teaching experience in higher education. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead with a style of open communication and transparent decision making. Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and networks. Ability to maximize capacity in existing programs and develop new academic opportunities. Budget and resource management experience. A strong commitment to valuing diversity, inclusivity, and equal opportunity. Knowledge of emerging practices and trends in teaching, athletic training, and higher education.
