VDC DIRECTOR The primary role of the VDC Director is to provide overall leadership and participate in developing strategic direction for the company regarding the use of construction-related technology and other technical services including, but not limited to; virtual design and construction (VDC), project management processes, building information modeling (BIM), evolving tools / equipment, safety innovation, drones, laser scanning, and other services. Essential Functions Lead the company for all project related VDC efforts and recruit / develop / manage resources necessary to execute VDC services Provide subject matter expertise on evolving technology and best practices to internal project teams, end-user groups, owners and clients Lead the execution of company's role in project technology plans, workflows, strategies, and execution Assist development of the project schedule and milestones Work collaboratively with end-user groups to ensure that adopted technologies are consistently leveraged throughout the project lifecycle Conduct needs analysis, identify and research potential technology solutions Proactively and regularly communicates to executive leadership team members on the status and direction of VDC efforts, including resources, operations, projects underway or pending, and any identified obstacles along with their potential impact and recommended solutions Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement committees to vet, pilot/test, and evaluate technology solutions that will improve safety, reduce risk, increase efficiency / productivity, and/or improve quality performance Educate and influence end-user groups on the value of adopting new technology solutions Aid in the development of Business Unit / Project budgets for VDC efforts and services Develop and maintain change management protocols, workflows and training regimens to support and ensure adoption of technology implementations Support project teams with subject matter expertise during proposal development, technology planning and presentations Develop marketing material specific to each Business Unit and/or end market Research and develop new ways to utilize technology and model-based information throughout the lifecycle of company projects Stay well informed and updated on evolving technology in the market while also communicating the value of updates when applicable Participate in the evaluation of new software and technology Manage the development of case studies after completion of project technology implementation Advise and train / educate staff where needed on the value that BIM / VDC can bring to project outcomes Provide technical orientation to business unit employees on company standard tools and applications Attend / present at relevant conferences, seminars, workshops, and/or meetings Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion Working Conditions The VDC Director will be required to be in one of the company's offices. Performance of this job requires meetings at each of the company's offices, off-site locations and jobsites that will include travel. Position Requirements BS or MS in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management Minimum ten years of relevant experience Demonstrates solid presentation skills and verbal / written skills Proficiency with all BE&K VDC software platforms Job Posted by ApplicantPro
