What a "Day in the Life" is Like This position is accountable for developing engaged, well-trained leaders and teams in the granule, bean, and packaging operations to execute The Basic Way of continuous improvement. Success in this position is measured by key performance indicators (KPIs) in financial results, customer order fill rate, team member retention & development, and other metrics in quality, safety, and sanitation. Do You Have the Ingredients to Become a Basic American Foods Hero? We're Looking for Someone With: Bachelor of Science degree from four-year college or university in Chemical Engineering or related field; MBA with management emphasis preferred. Five to ten years continuous process manufacturing experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; ERP software; and adept at learning new software. Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles and/or six sigma certification. Bilingual English, Spanish preferred. Job Duties: Meet financial performance and KPI targets by d eveloping shift supervision and process management to engage teams in Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI). Coach the MDI process. Direct functional support groups as necessary to meet manufacturing objectives. Partner with maintenance to meet OEE objectives and develop annual capital improvement plans. Lead or participate in The Basic Way using A3 thinking; Value Stream Analysis; Strategic Deployment X-Matrix; and other tools. Monitor manufacturing and supporting processes to execute the production schedule for delivery on time at the lowest total cost by conforming exactly to the customer's requirements. Provide appropriate customer support as requested. Ensure a food safe working environment by an effective food safety and quality audit program. Achieve high levels of product safety by compliance to all applicable Federal and State laws and statues, company policies and customer requirements. Lead by example by participating in audits and performing food safe observations. Ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Monitor safety performance ensures root cause analysis is completed on injuries to prevent recurrence, and assures compliance with established policies, procedures, and goals. Lead by example with regards to performing safety observations and participating in employee communication meetings on a regular basis. Establish a working environment that allows employees every opportunity to reach their potential. Direct all related activities for shift supervision, process management, and hourly team members including bid selection, appraisals and development plans, coaching, and engagement. In partnership with the Training Coordinator and Human Resources, ensure a proactive approach to training and developing team members is consistently followed. Oversee proper transfer and ongoing reduction of plant waste streams to partners in animal feed; solid waste; corrugated recycling; process water. Assure compliance with all applicable company policies, as well as federal, state, and local regulations to protect the land, environment, and natural resources.
