Salary Range: $16.73 - $18.61 /HR DOE Competitive benefits package available after 60 days of employment. SUMMARY: Balance line production and ensure the lines are running smoothly by relieving technicians. Monitor data and waste, control points, and checking the quality of supplies and materials. Operate the filler for start-up, shut-down, CIP, sterilizing and pasteurizing. Fill containers with product that meets specifications, then enclose containers and properly cool product. Transfer containers from a pallet to a conveyor and record pallets used. Monitor quality and flow to the fillers. Operate the de-palletizer efficiently and understand its capabilities. Monitor machine performances and assist in identifying and solving problems. Produce finished goods that meet customer specifications and conform to HACCP regulations. Only qualified Operators can relieve the positions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices. It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to act. This is a representative sample--not to imply a complete listing of all responsibilities and tasks. Perform changeovers by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's): Follow SOP's for rinser, filler, conveyors, coder and cap/ low fill detector. Utilize appropriate tools and supplies to perform procedures Clean, Sanitize and CIP the filler and work area: Perform CIP/ COP on filler, capper and work area Clean the rinser, capper and work area Follow correct and proper usage of chemicals Inspect the filler and work area for cleanliness Prepare the filler for production Maintain area of responsibility to meet GMP standards Operate/ Observe Filler, Capper, Rinser and Cooler box Operate filler and capper safely and properly according to SOP's Before production ensure proper set-up Check and observe the filler, capper, rinser and cooler box performance Adjust the filler as required to meet specification Pasteurize the juice by monitoring and recording on the chart recorder on paperwork Knowledge of the filling operation for functions performed- pumps, divert valves etc. Know item being ran and specifications- bottle size, correct cap etc. Ensure proper loop and hold time Train new members as required Prepare Lines for Operation: Assist with process equipment and on-time startups. Check to see machines and work area are operable, cleaned, and setup properly. Verify staffing is correct to meet production needs and notify manufacturing supervisor for replacements. Notify lab for startup brix. Maintains area of responsibility to meet GMP standards. Maintain a Continuous Production Flow: Check to see that raw materials are on hand. Observe machine performance. As an operator relief, properly record downtime on HACCP documentation. Monitor Quality of Product being produced: Verify with the lab that specifications are being met. Monitor control points for quality. Perform quality checks as required. As an operator relief, verify, and perform 30 min HACCP audits . Monitor process data to ensure line is in control. Adjust equipment and supplies, as required; make necessary adjustments as needed.. Share knowledge of machines, testing methods, and procedures with co-workers. Adhere to control point measurement methods and procedures. Know, Prepare, and Operate Caser Safely: Operate the caser to pack containers into cases Follow procedures for operating the caser safely Ensure that the electric eyes are working properly Monitor supplies and product flow Supply material: KD's, trays, carriers and glue Adjust clutches, grid, guides, and conveyors as required Monitor conveyor system, transfer of finished containers into cases, and finished cases to the palletizer Setup the caser as required Perform changeover of equipment as required in a timely manner Monitor Quality of Finished Case and Finished Pallet: Monitor cases and pallets for quality Know Product, Codes and Specifications Observe cases for non-conformance to specifications Communicate down line to correct defects Identify cause of defects to case or pallet Operate De-palletizer to Maintain Flow and Safety: Operate the machine in proper sequence and procedure Maintain constant flow of supplies for the filler operation Exercise caution around the machine while it is in operation Verify supplies are correct for production Inform forklift operators regarding dunnage and the supplying pallets Remove slip-sheets and picture frames then stack them properly Follow safe operating procedures Know de-palletizer operations and safety QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) Zero to six months position related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to communicate in English LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words, and to recognize similarities and differences between words and a series of numbers Ability to communicate in English. Ability to write simple correspondence Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, other employees of TreeTop. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of measure. TECHNOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS: GMP- training and understanding of standards HAZCOM/ HAZCAT training MSDS PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee must frequently lift and/ or move up to 10lbs and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for testing, distance vision for observing line flow, color vision for testing and seeing juice/ sauce color, peripheral vision to observe two processes, depth perception for working with machinery and the ability to adjust focus for seeing defective material.
