POSITION OVERVIEW: The Residential Site Auditor at Namaste Solar is responsible for traveling to customer homes and other project sites to collect data on the potential for renewable energy production, capacity for energy storage systems, structural requirements, and customer preferences. The data collected will be used for the design and permitting of residential solar electric and energy storage systems as well as to provide the customer with outstanding customer experience. This position will be responsible for taking accurate measurements inside and out of our customer's homes and collaborating with sales and project management staff to ensure the quality and accuracy of data collection and information transfer. This includes taking pictures, detailed notes and drawings of necessary electrical equipment, roofs, attics, obstructions, and general property. This position offers good mix of both field and office work with a large amount of vehicle travel - up to 80%. The Site Auditor will also be responsible for sitting inspections and working with install crews when the site visit volume is low. This role will perform site audits for sold projects that cover the full residential sales territory (roughly 50 miles radius from both office locations). Position Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Analyze data input from sales, prepare notes and schedule site visits with customers for sold projects. Conduct a physical site survey using a variety of tools and equipment including, but not limited to, measuring devices, hand tools, ladders, personal protective equipment, drones, shade analysis tools, to ascertain the existing electrical infrastructure, roof layout, rafter composition, and solar resource of the project site. Ability to work professionally in variable weather conditions, navigate a range residential projects in both size and scope, and handle customer expectations with professionalism. Document the project site with photos, written notes, and sketch drawings. Complete, by hand and/or electronically on a company provided device, site surveying data sheets required for Project Management and Retro Design teams. Upload required information in a timely manner to Namaste Solar database (Salesforce) and customer folder. Communicate with customers while visiting their home, providing assurance of Namaste Solar's quality solar designs, installation standards, and company mission. Request Structural Engineering letters for projects using the site visit data. Perform administrative and/or installation work when needed. Standards and Expectations: Completes 2-3 site visits per day (average 10-15 project reports per week), depending on location. Completes and uploads paperwork for each site visit within one business day of visit. Completes site visits within 1-4 weeks of contract signed/sale. This role will be expected to work 40 hours a week with a flexible schedule, including some evening and weekend work. Demonstrated commitment to a safe work environment and culture. Maintain mobility to climb stairs, inspect attics, and traverse uneven terrain. Ability to handle an extension ladder and physically able to climb on roofs. Extreme attention to detail, with strong written and verbal communication skills both customer-facing and with internal team members. Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload while effectively managing the stresses of a changing workload. Effective technical communicator, ability to clearly convey detailed information to multiple stakeholders. Operate in a collaborative team atmosphere - giving and taking feedback to improve your personal performance as well of that of your team and the cooperative. Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Attributes: Proven track record of high-quality customer service. General understanding of solar electric system requirements and residential electrical equipment. Ability to apply strong understanding of building and roof construction standards. Proficient with computers and software: Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Smartsheet. Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace. FAA 107 Certification (certified to fly drones) preferred upon hire; obtaining certification in first few weeks of role is required. OSHA 10 preferred, ability to be certified is required. Clean driving record and ability to drive and operate company vehicles. Must be able and willing to work in harsh working conditions including steep roofs and small attic spaces with regularity. Must be able to lift and climb ladders to access roofs and attics. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Driving required to site locations. Work environment: Work environment changes from day to day at project work sites and on roofs of all pitches. High and potentially dangerous exposure to electricity. The daily temperature varies from hot to cold depending on the season. There is a portion of work that requires data collection in confined spaces for extended periods of time. Travel: This position is expected to travel locally up to 80% of the time.
