Primary focus of this job is to assist in the research, development, and commercialization of innovative treatment technologies for contaminates of emerging concern. This is a unique opportunity to be on the forefront in the development of new treatment processes that have the potential to make significant impact in our communities and the environment. You will work with a passionate and interdisciplinary team to design, deploy, manage, and evaluate innovative pilot treatment systems in the field. This position will require traveling to different customer sites with the team to support with the hands-on testing and commissioning of the pilot treatment equipment. We work as a collaborative team where everyone is encouraged to contribute ideas on the overall design, development, and strategy of commercialization of the developing treatment equipment and processes. We are looking for a skilled individual that is excited to be a part of changing how the world views our most critical resource - Water. HERE'S WHAT YOU WILL DO: You will work with a tight knit interdisciplinary team to assist with the innovation and product development of water technologies for contaminates of emerging concern. You will have the opportunity to assist in all aspects of the design, construction, and testing of the developing treatment systems. This would include evaluating and optimizing design parameters and process configuration through collecting, documenting and analyzing data produced from the developmental or full-scale systems. You will assist with the organizing people and resources to execute testing plans. Because this is a hands-on job you will need to serve as a safety role model; promote a high level of safety awareness; adhere to and support the continuous improvement of all safety practices. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS WILL INCLUDE: Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate technical concepts to a variety of audiences. Ability to work with a problem-solving mindset in a collaborative team environment and work autonomously. Technical knowledge of environmental water chemistry, advanced oxidation, and other water treatment methods Working knowledge of Federal and State water regulations Practical and technical knowledge of common lab instruments and equipment used for evaluating water chemistry parameters. (Previous experience with LC/MS/MS is a bonus) Proficiency of Microsoft business software (excel, word, Powerpoint,etc.) Preferred experience with big data analysis including a working knowledge of Power BI, VBA, SQL or other programing languages. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL POSSESS: Education: Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering, (civil, environmental, chemical, or industrial) or life sciences (chemistry) Preferred master's degree in engineering, (civil, environmental, chemical, or industrial) or life sciences (chemistry) Open to PhD in engineering, (civil, environmental, chemical, or industrial) or life sciences (chemistry) Experience: Specific knowledge and experience with contaminants of emerging concern including PFAS (including undergraduate/graduate research) Experience with study design and execution of research projects, data processing and interpretation of results Preferred experience with implementing pilot project and construction of pilot system Preferred experience designing and implementing ion exchange treatment systems WILL I NEED TO TRAVEL: Travel to out-of-state project locations and conferences will be required. Position will be up to 60% travel that would be mainly domestic but may include international.
