Operator STREET SWEEPER OPERATOR -- DRIVER (Waukegan, IL)One of the most well known Street Sweeping Company's in the region is seeking career minded candidates to operate our Street Sweepers as a career. Full Time Operators are needed. Those who posses a desire to learn, be part of a team and possess a Class A or B driver's license with airbrake endorsement are encouraged to apply. Our company is one of the most respected in our industry and has been in business for over 10 years. We are currently growing and we are seeking new team members to join our company.We are looking to hire candidates with a positive attitude, those who are hardworking, those who have excellent work habits including a commitment to show up to on time and those who are prepared to provide the best possible service to our customers.Full time employees are eligible for medical and paid vacation and sick leave.Requirements include but are not limited to: Class A or B with Airbrake endorsement and a clean driving records. No history of Drug or Alcohol related convictions in the last 10 years. Ability to pass a criminal background check to work on school sites, military bases, federal government sites, state government sites and other high security areas. High School Diploma or GED is required. Must be able to understand, speak, read, write, and communicate clearly in English. Must be able to follow directions and read maps. Must pass drug test and insurance clearance. Random drug testing is ongoing. PreEmployment Physicals are conducted. Must be 21 or older to qualify for our insurance requirements. Must be able to climb in and out of large and small Sweeping vehicles several times a day and lift 50 lbs. The job requires employees to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to carry and operate heavy duty leaf blowers and heavy portable water meters weighting up to 50 lbs. The job requires employees to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Basic mechanical knowledge is helpful; the ability to check engine oil, coolant, adjust and tighten nuts and bolts, use a shovel and broom and perform other basic mechanical and cleaning functions. Some positions require weekend work, swing shift and early morning starts.Operators are required to complete daily paperwork including Timesheets or Time clock software apps on smartphones.
