Entry Level Mechanic I - Halls

Pay Rate: $16-$18 DOE BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all equipment and vehicles to insure their continuance in operational condition. RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs and supervises preventative maintenance. Performs all necessary overhaul and repairs on equipment and vehicles. Equips new trucks to meet the job needs. Assists in control of downtime and keeping road calls to a minimum. Follows D.O.T. regulations for the safe operation and maintenance of trucks and record keeping. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: Ability to read, write and communicate orally and written. Mechanical diagnostic ability. Use of machine tools. Welding ability is a plus . SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold. Work in areas with high noise levels. Work in varying weather conditions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Strength (lift, carry, push, pull): Maximum lift, 100 lbs.Íž Frequent lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach with manual dexterity and see (acuity, depth perception, field of vision). Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis. Reach over head to grasp materials. TRAVEL REQUIRED: None LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: TN Driver License with "F" endorsement Clean driving record. Insurability for driving. EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED or technical training.
