Position Title: OSP Supervisor Accountable To: Sr. Engineer Direct Reports: Engineering Technician I Engineering Technician II Exempt Status: Exempt Incumbent: Open Primary Objective of Position: Provide professional engineering support to projects, guidance to other OSP staff and provide excellent customer service and professional representation of the company. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: I. OSP Engineering A. Adhere to company safety policies and practicesB. Assist Supervisor, Project Manager and Project Lead Tech with all aspects of crew and daily work, managing jobs and workload as assigned.C. Function as Lead Tech or Resident on assigned jobs, and coordination of assigned inspector dutiesD. Provide work direction to other Engineering Technicians as neededE. Create construction sketches, determine design criteria, layout designs and create estimatesF. Determine and recommend best construction optionsG. Understand and operate Locating & GPS collection equipment, processing software programs and procedure'sH. Interpret, understand and apply industry Codes and regulations like; NEC Code, NESC Safety standards, Telcordia Blue Book standards, RUS standards, etc.I. Assemble easements and permitsJ. Produce plans, specifications, and contractsK. Schedule and implement bid processL. Interpret and implement environmental reviewsM. Inspect construction verifying all specifications and regulations are metN. Test new and existing facilities for compliance to specificationsO. Prepare all necessary reports, invoices, forms, drawings, documents etc. at proper stages of projectsP. Use of Computer programs; Excel, Word, AutoCad and other job related programsQ. Maintain a valid driver's license free of an inordinate amount of violations II. Inside Plant A. Draw up, communicate and oversee site plansB. Secure right to entry agreements with building owners III. Miscellaneous A. Assist in Surveying, Drafting or Environmental departments as neededB. Keep records and documents well organizedC. Ensure safekeeping of assigned equipment and maintain in good working orderD. Ensure vehicles are supplied, kept orderly, in good condition and ready for dutyE. Obtain/maintain project related safety certifications and industry relevant certificationsF. Travel required as necessary SECONDARY FUNCTIONS IV.
