Description:
Work as a member of the cafe team at Independence Grove. You will primarially work the cash register taking orders from customers and providing customer service. Schedules are flexible and will usually be 3-5 days per week including weekends.This is a great summer job for high school and college students in the Libertyville, Gurnee, Mundelein, and Lake Forest area. RESPONSIBILITIES Greet every guest with a smile and a fun and positive attitude. Provide fun and attentive customer service. Deliver only quality food. Have a sense of urgency about keeping the window empty. Keep the cafe area clean and safe. Report to work on time and in proper uniform. Keep station stocked and cleaned throughout shift. Practice the 'clean as you go' theory. Observe all rules of safety and sanitation in relation to station operation. Have a positive attitude regarding job and communication with management and fellow staff. Perform other duties as instructed by the managers or supervisors. Constantly strives to deliver the best tasting food to our guests consistently Knows the proper presentation, make up technique, preparation method and desired flavor of all items on the menu Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area Understands basic kitchen sanitation guidelines Handles stores and rotates all products properly Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed Maintains professionalism when not assisting customers; avoids eating, sitting, reading, texting, or any other activities that are not work-related QUALIFICATIONS Enjoys and maintains a high quality of life, has a willingness to learn, makes friends easily and contributes to a winning restaurant environment Previous experience in kitchen preparation and cooking helpful but not required Understands basic kitchen sanitation guidelines Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and team members Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time Job Posted by ApplicantPro
