This position is located on-site at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in Dahlgren, VA for the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD)/Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer, known as CIAT. Job Description The Junior Systems Engineer will be part of a team of systems engineers charged with providing systems engineering expertise to the NSWCDD Integrated Combat Systems Department (V) to plan and execute systems engineering activities in support of current and future Combat System Command and Control (C2) functions. As the Junior Systems Engineer you will: Review all new requirements for CIAT, which is the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD)/Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer Support requirements working group efforts within the user community. Review the Test Observation Reports (TORs) that have been generated against CIAT, including managing the backlog of TORs. Provide evaluation on-site, in the lab, alongside Software Developers, Testers, and Integrators. Work closely with third party vendors, stakeholders, and sponsors through daily duties such as Working Group Meetings. Be located on-site in an air gapped facility at NSWC Dahlgren - this is a great opportunity to learn something new everyday and work closely with your team leads! Position Requirements/Skills Three plus (3+) years of experience in Systems Engineering, Integration of Combat Systems, Testing, and similar. This position requires U.S. Citizenship and an Active or Interim Department of Defense SECRET clearance. A Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering or related technical field. Candidate must understand system lifecycle stages and the latest systems engineering standards from INCOSE. Experience or familiarity with preparing and reviewing technical documentation including but not limited to System Requirements Specifications, Capability Requirement Documents, Capability Production Documents, System Engineering Plans, System Requirements Documents, System Design Documents, Interface Design Documents and Specifications. Ability to work in an air-gapped environment on classified software products. Ability to communicate effectively within a dynamic team environment. Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) Certification desired. Background knowledge in test is a plus. Knowledge of AEGIS Tactical System (in specific CIAT), desired but not required. Experience with Systems Engineering in an Agile development environment, desired but not required. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team of Friends Enjoying Work!
