LC State invites applications for the position of Financial Coordinator 1.Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $49,000 - $50,000 Degree Required: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or equivalent. Required Qualifications: Experience in finance and/or budgeting. Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Excellent ability to organize, plan, and manage complex projects along with a proven ability to work independently and under pressure. Ability to compose official correspondence, reports, and other complex documents. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Experience in an institution of higher education. Working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague Finance module. Involvement in an environment that requires maintaining the confidentiality of information. Experience analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives, and developing recommendations for management/administrators. Experience in Microsoft PowerBI. Responsibilities: The Financial Coordinator I provides support for both routine and complex budget projects and will be the main point of contact for the Financial Services' unit One Stop Shop. This is a highly skilled generalist position responsible for responding to inquiries regarding Budget, A/P, Treasury, Travel, and a multitude of other functions for the Financial Services' unit (Controller's Office and Budget Office as a One Stop Shop). S/he will be responsible for answering phones, directing questions as needed, carrying out of processes, meeting deadlines, and working collaboratively with campus departments/divisions on monthly budget reports and issues. Front-line customer service for inquiries and assistance related to the Financial Services' One Stop Shop. Research, compile, reconcile, and analyze financial accounting information to prepare reports required to meet the many reporting requirements of the Budget Office. Review and approve Personnel Action Forms to ensure proper implementation of salary increases, one-time payments, new hires, separations, etc. Assist in the development of budgets for individual cost centers and programs; estimate income for cost centers and programs; recommend improvements to the budget system as needed. Prepare various financial reports of programs for cabinet review. Input financial transactions and prepare journal entries. Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for providing budget services; implementing policies and procedures. Ensure that the College complies with state and federal policies and regulations. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
