Job Description: Maintenance Manager Job summary Performs efficient and effective maintenance management in a way that maximizes safe production of quality products, minimizes cost and protects the assets. Summary of essential job functions Set clear direction and expectation for technicians in the plant. Hires, trains, develops, and disciplines maintenance employees. Maintains adequate knowledge to supervise all mechanical and electrical/instrument work in the facility and to set competitive industry standards. Trains and maintains industrial safety standards of the plant and maintenance personnel Interview, test, and hire mechanics and test for pay increases. Develops testing protocol. Performs daily maintenance planning, production & usage scheduling Implements and maintains maintenance management system (MMS) Develops and implements modern preventative and predictive maintenance system competitive with similar industry and plant size Helps lead morning production meeting directing maintenance planning. Suggest items for the plant manager longer term list. Analyzes data and keeps daily reports. Helps control site safety, security and plans with maintenance work, contractors, and plant visitors. Understands and controls environmental discharges and good manufacturing practices. Works as a team, communicates well with all organizational levels. Minimum requirements Knowledge of plant safety, environment and good manufacturing practices Experience in employee relations and activity planning and management Specific training in maintenance management and/or systems Experience required 10 years plant maintenance or equivalent demonstration. 5 years plant leadership and/or planning experience.
