POSITION SUMMARY: The accounting assistant helps maintain Sonatech's financial books, ensuring that account data is complete and accurate. Responsibilities include: Accounts payable responsibilities include collecting, coding, and entering vendor invoices into the accounting system according to company procedures. Reviewing and entering employee expense reports into the accounting system. Collecting, coding, and entering credit card transaction receipts into the accounting system. Filing invoices and credit card receipts on a weekly basis. Checking figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper account coding. Processing, printing, and mailing the weekly check-run. Researching accounts payable history upon request. Reconciling and reporting any discrepancies found in accounting records. May assist in weekly payroll preparation. May support Government Property Accounting and record keeping. May perform other administrative duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Prior experience in accounts payable Microsoft Office Suite High level of attention to detail Exceptional organizational skills Strong independent work ethic U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Desired Qualifications: Prior experience using QuickBooks Prior experience in payroll Prior experience in account reconciliations Prior accounting experience working for a defense contractor is a plus Sonatech is an EEO/AA/Disability/Vets Employer.
