Shift: Days Monday-FridayJOB SUMMARY The Infection Prevention/Employee Health/Clinical Quality Coordinator's primary responsibilities include Infection Prevention Surveillance, data collection, data entry, and report development for Employee Health, Infection Prevention and Quality Improvement.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Infection Preventionist/Employee Health/Clinical Quality Coordinator with:A. Management and coordination of the surveillance, prevention and control of infection at MCRHC-PHO.B. Ongoing review of policies and procedures that outline infection prevention and control mechanisms in all patient care, service areas and employee health and insures compliance based on recognized guidelines, applicable laws and regulations. Monitors adherence by all departments to infection control policies and procedures for isolation and use of barrier precautions (use of PPE).C. Analysis of surveillance data, identifying opportunities for improvement and works with others to build a plan of corrective action, follow implementation and evaluate effectiveness.D. Coordination of and provision of education regarding Infection Control with new employee orientation.E. Following employee health policies and procedures. Maintenance of employee health records and follow-ups of occupational exposure incidents F. Infection Prevention Committee meetings as needed. G. Notification of designated medical and administrative staff members and appropriate public health department authorities of all reportable communicable diseases.H. Preparation of infection prevention in-services I. Works with Director of Process Excellence to coordinate clinical quality initiatives, data collection, data entry/reporting and process improvements.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONSA. Supports and abides by all PHO, departmental safety policies and procedures.B. Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission and philosophy of Mitchell County Regional Health Center and Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.C. Performs other responsibilities as requested by the CNO and/or Administration team. D. Demonstrated Guiding Behavior Standards in all interactions with all parties.E. Attends departmental/hospital in-services and meetings as required or requested.F. Assists in CQI activities and process improvements.G. Regular and reliable attendance is expected.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSA. Education:1. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, RN required. 2. Licensed in the state of Iowa.B. Experience:1. Nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred. C. Special Skills & Aptitudes:1. Effective written and verbal communications.2. Basic computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet, preferred.3. Effective interpersonal/communication skills.4. Able to work flexible hours.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTSA. Frequent (40-80%) standing and walking is required. B. Must be able to set for long periods of times (40-60%). C. Must be able to see, hear, and possess sensory, verbal and mental activity in normal range.D. May be exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous waste and chemicals, electrical shock, and radiation.E. Must be able to drive car to away meeting and classes.F. Able to lift, carry and/or push/pull objects over 60 pounds frequently (21-50%).G.
