Description:
JOB SUMMARY Provide inspection services to assigned construction projects, with focus on general construction, to ensure assigned projects are being built according to the specifications and construction documents. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Observe the Contractor's work to determine the progress and quality of work. Identify and report significant discrepancies. Working in a team environment for assigned projects, must be able to understand technical nature of job tasks including documentation, coordination and close out functions as detailed in organizational processes. Review for compliance installed work conforms to the contract, specifications, drawings/plans, special provisions, and code. Review and analyze contractor construction schedules and pay applications to ensure percent complete accuracy. Participate and provide feedback for feasibility studies, design reviews, preconstruction planning, regularly scheduled project status meetings, and punch list/closeout activities. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. REQUIRED SKILLS Have above average blueprint reading knowledge, including scale, abbreviations, and general layouts including disciplines of Architectural, Structural, & MEP. Must have knowledge of standard construction contract terms and conditions. Must be familiar with building construction systems such as CBS, Tilt-wall, concrete frame, metal buildings, wood frame, etc. Have the ability to evaluate Construction Project Schedule of Values (Cost Categories) Familiar with formats and terms within General Contractor/Owner Agreements GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred; A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and attention to detail are a must. Have a reliable means of transportation. Interested candidates should understand the importance of delivering the highest level of service to every client. Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills, and work well with other team members.
