Made Possible.Role SummaryThe Environmental Engineer is responsible for assisting with environmental compliance with the air, solid waste and wastewater environmental areas at the Texarkana Mill. Areas of responsibility include air monitoring, wastewater, solid and hazardous waste streams, DOT shipments, and environmental management systems. The successful applicant will demonstrate due diligence and environmental stewardship to help the mill maintain regulatory compliance. Must work safely and provide guidance to others for safety improvement.Job Accountabilities * Knowledge and understanding of mill's air and wastewater state and federal environmental permits * Coordinate data collection and perform analysis of environmental data * Assist with compliance activities for mill environmental permits, will be working with consultants and mill maintenance groups * Assist with inspection, evaluation and management of solid waste units * Assist with compliance activities for the wastewater treatment system, including supervising the environmental lab technicians and coordinating equipment repairs * Assist mill's on-site public water treatment system supervisor with system performance and equipment maintenance coordination * Implement projects and best management practices which will help the mill achieve continued compliance * Ensure timely completion and accuracy of required environmental reports Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in science or engineering discipline * Knowledge of environmental regulations * Experience working with state and federal regulatory agencies preferred * Demonstrated track record of success at working in team environments with focus on safety, results, and ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems * Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization, contractor employees, vendors, and government officials * Computer skills for communication and data tracking and analysis * Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening and reference check * Legally authorized to work in the United StatesGraphic Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
