Worship Leader

The Worship Leader will be the planner, coordinator, and director of the music programs and worship services. The Worship Leader is an important position in the church and this person should have a God ordained calling placed on his/her life to serve in this capacity. The leader should be active in a LifeGroup and a dedicated tither. The Worship Leader should seek God in every decision that is made and have a desire to glorify Him through this position. Accountability: The Worship Leader will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor and accountable to the Deacons and the Personnel Team. The Worship Leader is ultimately responsible to the church body. The Worship Leader is expected to meet with the Senior Pastor for input, scheduling, feedback, and planning. Responsibilities:Select and schedule songs, singers, instrumentalist, and sound booth technicians for worship services through Planning Center and conduct weekly Praise Team practices.Responsible for coordinating all aspects of music related to children’s music, VBS, special programs, block parties, youth events, other worship/music related events, etc. Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Youth Praise Team.Arrive at church at least 30 minutes before service time to ensure all sound equipment and musical instruments are prepared for worship.Coordinate the preparation of the Worship Presentation Software (ProPresenter for Mac) for Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night.Keep current on music culture and materials. This includes learning at least but not limited to one new song every six weeks and playing it during Sunday morning worship services.Prepare the weekly order of service and send to the pastors and the person responsible for the bulletin by Wednesday morning.Responsible for enlisting members for the Worship Vision Team and have quarterly scheduled meetings to plan and conduct church events.Once plans are approved, the Worship Leader will be expected to freely implement with the support of the Worship Vision Team.Serve as active member of the Ministry Leadership Team.Prepare and present music/worship budget to the Finance Team.Promote all music ministry activities in the church bulletin, church announcements, newspaper, Facebook page, website, etc.Coordinate the use of facilities for music/worship activities with the church calendar.Include music events in the church monthly calendar which should include Sunday morning and Wednesday evening worship, special music, programs, etc.Employment:The Worship Leader will be considered a part time position.Generally, the Worship Leader is expected to devote a minimum of 10-15 hours a week to ministry. These hours may include some or all of the following activities: preparation and planning, practice and pastoral meetings. It is understood that requirements may vary week to week.Compensation:Weekly salary Vacation Days: 2 weeks annually.Maximum of 4 sick days compensated each year.
