Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Fabricator. Position Type: Full Time Contract, Temp to Direct Duration: 12 Months contract Location: Tampa, FL 33634 (Onsite) As a Fabricator, you will: Fabricate various precision parts, models, and tools from raw materials using precision blueprints and all Sheet Metal shop equipment and procedures. Read work orders, follow production, and sample assemblies, diagrams, part lists or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Set up sheet metal equipment and perform intricate close tolerance fabrication. Ability to understand and read precision measuring equipment. Measure parts to determine specified tolerance. Read and interpret blueprints to fabricate complex parts. Fabricate parts from raw materials. File and buff parts to fit. Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot face bolt holes in parts. Position and align parts. Lap and hone internal cylindrical surfaces. Must have a knowledge of basic metal shop equipment and tools including drill press, power hack saw, surface grinders, shears, brakes, punch press, rollers, and all basic hand tooling operations. Basic understanding of military and commercial workmanship standards Must be willing and able to assume work assignments away from the facility for extended periods-of-time for site installations and be willing to work rotating shifts. Ability to program and run basic and advanced CNC Punch Press operations. Ability to proficiently operate additional machinery not normally associated with job specific expertise. (I.E. Machine operator with shear, brake, and punch press experience.) Machinist Assistant as needed. Demonstrated manual dexterity, proven mechanical aptitude, ability to perform all advanced level sheet metal operations, ability to read and interpret Mechanical blueprints, ability to be sensitive to schedule, expert understanding of tools and specialized equipment (shears, brakes, punch press, rollers, etc.) Must be able to work from parts lists, assembly drawings, engineering orders, engineering change orders, engineering logs, workmanship standards and manufacturing procedures / work instructions. Basic computer skills are required for time reporting and work order processing. Ability to perform work assignments with minimal supervision. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to figure percentages, area, circumference, and volume and apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Preferred Skills The ability to operate plasma and other conventional cutting torches. The ability to perform welds and be qualified or able to be qualified in accordance with requirements of AWS D17.1 Section 9 for non-flight hardware for the following materials and weld types: Aluminum with material thicknesses ranging from .040-.750 for GTAW, AC, Vertical-up, Carbon steel with material thicknesses ranging from .040-.750 for GTAW, DC, Vertical-up. The qualifying weld types are Sheet Groove (1G, 3G), Tube Groove (1G), Sheet Fillet (1F, 2F, 3F), Tube Fillet (1F). Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must possess manual dexterity and excellent hand eye coordination. Ability to stand or sit over 2/3 of the time or walk under 1/3 of the time. Use hands to finger, handle or feel over 2/3 of the time. Reach with hands and arms over 2/3 of the time. Climb or balance on an approved safety ladder under 1/3 of the time. Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl under 1/3 of the time. Talk or hear 1/3 to 2/3 of the time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds over 2/3 of the time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds 1/3 to none of the time. Must meet vision requirements in accordance with AWS certification. Shall have vision acuity of 20/30 or better in either eye or shall be able to read the Jaeger No. 2 Eye Chart at 16 in [400 mm]. Corrected or uncorrected vision may be used to achieve eye test requirements. If corrected vision is required to pass eye test requirements, then that fact shall be notated on qualification records. Vision shall be tested to these requirements at least every two years. The ideal candidate will have: High school diploma or general education degree. 1+ years' experience in sheet metal techniques, machining techniques, equipment, and procedures Post high school vocational training or certification strongly preferred.
