Our mission is to bring health through food to as many people as possible. Danone North America in Minster Ohio is looking to add Maintenance Mechanics due to market growth and pending retirements. If you have experience with Multi-craft (electrical, robotic) machinery repair, are a professional automotive mechanic or HVAC technician we would love to discuss our opportunities with you. Our mechanics work on state of the art equipment in a climate controlled facility with the opportunity for training to grow your career to become a State Certified Journeyman Mechanic. Seeking aMaintenance Mechanic / First Responder on a 12-hour night shift (5:48PM - 6:00AM).The Maintenance Mechanicwill be responsiblefor all emergency and unplanned breakdowns associated with production lines.Pay starts at $34.54/hr plus $1.00/hr shift premium with the opportunity to grow to a State Certified Journeyman Mechanic at $38.78/hr plus a $1.00/hr shift premium. Specific Job Duties & Tasks:Consistently communicate service actions and equipment issues with operators, maintenance, and all corresponding departments (e.g., scheduling, processing, packaging, distribution)Follow safety protocols and utilization documents (e.g., safety manuals, manufacturer instructions, diagrams, etc.)Perform CILT (i.e., clean, inspect, lubricate, tighten) quality checks on production lines to ensure machinery is properly functioningPrevent safety hazards and service requests via proper supervision, observation, and quality checksAsk questions regarding equipment failure in order to properly diagnose issuesMonitor several production lines or utilities systems (if working in utilities) simultaneouslyEvaluate, test and maintain electrical wiringTroubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipmentEfficiently assemble/disassemble machinery when necessaryInstall specialized equipment, devices, or parts for repairsReceive daily reports to verify the status of production linesReceive work orders via computer systems or phoneDocument resolutions to equipment failure for future referenceRemove defective machinery/equipment with industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts, etc.)Annually attend in-house trainings (e.g., forklift, automation, welding, ladder, lock-out/tag-out, and safety)Cleaning and sanitation tasks (e.g., part lubrication and cleaning, general housekeeping)Work 12-hour night shifts, 5:48pm - 6:00am on a 3-2-2 schedule About you Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:KnowledgeMechanically and technically inclinedComputerliteracyand automation mechanicsDairy processing experience (preferred)Experience with continuous improvementTotal Preventative Maintenance(preferred)SkillsProperly utilizes equipment (e.g. power tools, phones, wrenches, screw drivers, cutting blades, tape measure, etc.)Exceptional verbal/written communication skillsMeticulous work ethic and keen awareness to detailEffective problem-solving skillsPrioritizes responsibilities and tasksMeets deadlines in timely fashionProficiency in data entryAbilitiesOpen to team-collaboration, building relationships, and sharing of knowledge/ideasAwareness of surroundings and anticipation of potential hazards/issuesAdequate vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordinationExcellent accuracy and precision during work functionsStress tolerance during high-volume situationsProactivity, foresight, and quick thinker/respondentDemonstrates comfort in a highspeed environmentMulti-tasking, adaptability, and flexibilityWelcomes constructive criticismPatience for uncertaintyDesire for new challengesSound memorization skillsConceptualization skills Education:Minimum Requirement: High school diploma, G.E.D., or some educational equivalentAdvanced Education (e.g., Associates, Bachelors, or Technical Degree) or professional licenses/certificates in robotics and automation or engineering (preferred)Recertification is an essential requirement About usAt Danone North America, you'll work with some of the best-known food and beverage brands in the world like Activia, Silk, Two Good, Oikos, evian, and Happy Family.
