Plant Manager

Description:
An industry leading food manufacturer in Chicago, IL is searching for a Plant Manager in one of their largest US facilities. This role ensures production efficiency, quality control, safety compliance, and effective team management. The Plant Manager will lead the plant's strategic planning, implement process improvements, and ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. USDA experience preferred. Key Responsibilities:Oversee daily operations to ensure production meets demand.Implement and monitor production schedules to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.Ensure the facility operates within budgetary constraints and optimize resource utilization.Maintain high standards for food safety and product quality.Ensure compliance with HACCP, FDA, USDA, and other relevant food safety regulations.Collaborate with the quality assurance team to resolve any quality issues promptly.Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of managers and production staff.Foster a positive and productive work environment.Oversee staff training programs to ensure skill development and compliance with safety standards.Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency.Utilize data and metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve the company's long-term goals.Collaborate with senior management on capacity planning and capital investments.Ensure alignment of plant operations with corporate objectives.Oversee inventory management to ensure raw materials and finished goods are optimally stocked.Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to maintain a smooth supply chain.Serve as the primary liaison between plant operations and corporate management.Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance and KPIs.Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.Minimum of 10 years of experience in food manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.Proven experience managing a large team in a fast-paced production environment.Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards.Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
