The Family Health Center of Worcester, Inc. is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of all residents especially culturally diverse populations in the greater Worcester community, by providing access to affordable, high-quality, integrated, comprehensive, and respectful primary, behavioral and oral healthcare, and social services regardless of patients' ability to pay. Job Description: The Staff Physician provides comprehensive and continuous primary care to a panel of patients. The Staff Physician participates in Urgent Care staffing as needed. The Staff Physician supervises the patient care of nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The Staff Physician also participates in the development and implementation of acommunity health plan and, as directed, may serve as a representative of the health center to community groups and task forces. Staff Physicians are viewed as leaders in theorganization and are expected to be involved in matters such as productivity, performance improvement, quality assurance, utilization review, and in-service training. Educational Requirements: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree is required. Experience Required: Three year Residency in Family Practice or other Primary Care Specialty required. Professional Licensure/Special Skills a nd Certification Required: Board Eligible/Board Certified in Family Practice or another Primary Care Specialty. Current licensure by Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine. Current DEA/MA Controlled Substance licenses for prescriptive authority. Current BLS required. Interpersonal Relationships/Organizational Expectations: 1. Commitment to providing health care to families in a medically underserved community. 2. Willingness to be flexible in the development of new methods of health service delivery. 3. Ability to deal with sensitive information in a highly confidential manner. 4. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors,co-workers, health care professionals, funders and other regulatory agencies. 5. Bilingual in English and another language appropriate to the health center’s patientpopulation preferred, but not required. 6. Ability to function independently with minimal supervision, and to plan, coordinate, andcarry out those tasks necessary to meet the job responsibilities. 7. Awareness of resources available within the health center to accommodate the needs ofpatients. 8. Commitment to providing cost conscious, fiscally responsible, timely, efficient, effective,safe, patient-centered, culturally competent, equitable, and participatoryhealth care. 9. Processes personal health information in accordance with FHC HIPPA policies and procedures. Supervisory Responsibilities: Clinical supervision of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, as appropriate.
