Job Title: Catholic Music Director Location: Lemoore , CA 93245 Duties: Shall attend meetings with Religious Support Office team to identify the Government’s music requirements for scheduled worship services. Shall select music appropriate to the worship service and provide creative planning for the services in order to prepare a worship set that is consistent with the common practice and theology of the service and select music in keeping with the theme of the worship service, event or ceremony. Shall provide music selections to the Chaplain Sponsor in time to be added to the presentation software for the services as needed. Shall develop and deliver annual musical calendar, plans services in consultation with Chaplains and Religious Education Coordinators. Shall provide general guidance in matters of music. Shall coordinate and coach all persons involved with music ministry. Shall assist musicians improve existing musical skills and proficiency. Prepare and use digital worship music software (ex. Proclaim/PowerPoint/CCLI) music slides if required for service. Maintains a digital music library with current resource material. Shall comply with all copyright law. Shall provide appropriate musical support during designated worship services. The purpose of the Music Director Coordinator is to provide music and choral performances to assist the congregation in worship. Shall provide a pre-lude and post-lude in consultation with the military Chaplain or designated representative. Shall lead the congregation: singing of hymns, chorus, spiritual songs and special music that enhances the atmosphere of worship for the particular congregation. Coordinate with the instrumentalist to adjust tempo and style of musical arrangements to enhance the congregation’s ability to participate in worship through the singing of hymns, choruses, and spiritual songs. Shall support worship services. Shall perform site preparation (set-up) and restoration (stowing musical equipment or other activities necessary to return facility to pre-service configuration). Shall coordinate and conduct choir rehearsal services. Education & Qualifications: Shall possess experience as a music director in religious worship settings, with sufficient experience playing piano or musical instruments appropriate at public worship services.
