Description:
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program intern assists with the free multi-site tax preparation program. The VITA Intern serves as clerical support for VITA volunteers, including, but not limited to, research, data entry, filling and general coordination.Responsibilities:Work with VITA clients to ensure paperwork necessary for tax preparation is collected.Reviews completed tax return with VITA clientsParticipates in tax events as needed Answers calls from VITA clients and other VITA volunteers as needed.Ensure that VITA paperwork is flowing as expected and in accordance with timelines. Assist Southern staff as necessaryEducation and Experience Qualifications: Strong organizational skill and problem-solving ability Strong communication skills - verbal and written Proficient use of computer tools required by the position Desire to learn and grown professionally Ability to multi-task and maintain adherence to deadlines Excellent attention to detail Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentRegularly required to sit, to talk, and to hear. Must occasionally stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision.
