Description Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for a Telecom Engineering Project Coordinator who will work alongside engineers and management for our client in Honolulu, HI supported by the Power Delivery Services (PDS) division. The position will have internal and client facing responsibilities, such as driving scope execution, schedule/resource management, financial management, contract management and risk mitigation.The Telecom Engineering Project Coordinator will be part of an established Project Management Office (PMO) within the PDS Division that provides consulting services to both public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical distribution located in Hawaii.Job ResponsibilitiesProject financial management:Maintain awareness of project work order creation (based on budget and schedule information provided by Engineers).Support Engineers, as requested, maintain their project dashboards.Assist Engineers, as requested, update UI Planner, (i.e. spend forecast) monthly.Manage project material and equipment:Assist Engineers in creating Purchase Requisitions for material and equipment acquisition.Monitor material and equipment Purchase Orders for issuance in accordance with planned schedule for installation/deployment.Track delivery, receipt, acceptance and storage of all project material and equipment; maintain project material and equipment inventory.Coordinate with Comm Shop and support acquisition of minor materials.Support "palletizing" material and equipment ready for testing and/or installation/deploymentDevelop IFC work packages:Confirm with the Engineer that projects are ready to be issued two (2) months prior to the planned schedule for installation/deployment.Support the Engineer with IFC package development and issuance.Coordination and scheduling logistics:Be the conduit from Engineering to Comm Shop.Support Engineers in working with Operations to schedule projects for testing and/or installation/deployment to meet the targeted TECO (i.e., "in-service") date.Schedule and facilitate pre-install/deployment meetings; confirm work package is ready, materials and equipment are on-site, and project is scheduled.Manage the expectations and unique requirements of the various Companies and its multiple and base yards/shops.Communicate with Operations re: the prioritization of projects for installation/deployment in alignment with calendar year capital and strategic plans (set by Engineering Supervisors, Managers and Directors).Track and coordinate work progress and completion of other Company departments involved in the project for compliance with Companies' schedule for installation/deployment.Track and coordinate third-party project stakeholders progress in compliance with Companies' schedule for installation/deployment, including but not limited to Hawaiian Telecom and IPP Developers, as well as Companies' Outside Services vendors.QualificationsBachelor's degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline or a Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance.0-2 years of experience with either internships and coops, and/or course work with electric utility design.Exceptional MS Excel capabilities to support tracking cost and schedule status of assigned tasks.Professional Attributes Team player who can work effectively in team environment.Self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction.Strong attention to detail and quality.Strong organizational skills for tracking assigned tasks across multiple projects.Ability to learn and master tools quickly.Strong written and verbal communication skills when interacting with clients and team.Willingness to travel to projects and/or client sites as needed.Strong analytical skills and proven problem solver in both team and independent environmentsWe take care of our employees.
