Position Overview The Functional Safety Specialist will be responsible leading functional safety activity according to ISO 26262 process guidelines. Essential Job Functions* Act as the primary Functional Safety interface.* Development of technical work products specific to functional safety, e.g. hazard and risk assessment (HARA), item definition, functional safety concept, technical safety concept, FTAs, DFMEAs, criticality analyses, other safety analyses, and test coverage analysis for safety requirements.* Support system functional and diagnostic changes to improve system safety.* Support software changes and verification process for production.* Support creation of component level diagnostic DVP tied to the saferty requirements.* Develop functional safety work products including: o HARA (Hazard Analysis)o Functional Safety Requirementso Technical Safety Requirements. Requirements* Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering * 5 years of experience in Automotive Systems engineering role (10 preferred)* Experience with Electronic Control Units* 3 years of experience specific to functional safety for Automotive or Aerospace (ISO26262 / IEC61508) Other Skills/Abilities * Detail oriented, self-motivated, high integrity* Driven to meet assigned deadlines and function independently to accomplish objectives* Ability to manage multiple projects at one time * Excellent evaluation and troubleshooting skills* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference* Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions* Proficient in MS Office applicationsEmployee Status : Full Time EmployeeShift : Day JobTravel : NoJob Posting : Dec 06 2023About CognizantCognizant (Nasdaq-100: CTSH) is one of the world's leading professional services companies, transforming clients' business, operating and technology models for the digital era.
