Description Leidos is a FORTUNE 500 company bringing a mix of innovative technology and sector expertise to customers in the national security, engineering, and the health industries.The QRC Airborne ISR Systems Division of the Airborne Solutions Group of Leidos currently has an opening for a Longbow Crew Trainer (LCT) Instructor Operator supporting the Army National Guard (ANG) Aviation Training Services and Operational Support (ATSOS) program in Columbia, SC. Leidos is the prime contractor providing flight training, simulation training, classroom instruction and schoolhouse support activities including the One Army School System (OASS) integration, and Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) maintenance for platforms and simulation devices in use or anticipated to be in use by the Army National Guard.This individual will join our team in support of various regional CONUS simulator devices including the UH-72A Cockpit Procedure Trainer (CPT), UH-72A Synthetic Flight Training System (SFTS), Advanced Blackhawk Flight Simulator (ABHFS), UH-60A/L SFTS, CH-47F Transportable Flight Proficiency Simulator (TFPS), and UH-60V/M Blackhawk Aviation Trainer (BAT) in support of the Army National Guard. The selected individual will provide instruction of all base and mission tasks in accordance with the appropriate aircraft training manual (ATM), APART academic evaluation topics as listed in the applicable ATM, mission scenario development, instrument training/evaluation, crew coordination, and collective operator training. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience supporting the ATSOS program.Primary Responsibilities:Operate the simulator device in order to train all of the crewmember tasks required by Chapter Four of the aircraft applicable ATM.Each I/O shall present his or her flight records and qualifications to the Battalion/AASF/Facility Standardization Instructor Pilot for review upon arrival to the unit.I/O services shall be adequate to support 4-5 two hour periods per day per simulator device. The number of periods per day will be dependent upon the operating hours of that device as prescribed by the local command. Simulators will typically be operated between the hours of 0700 and 1900 local time, but can be flexed to accommodate the facilities operating hours. ARNG training sites typically operate four (4) days each week for ten (10) hours each day and at least one weekend each month. Traditional five (5) day, eight (8) hour per day, one weekend each month schedules can also be found at some ARNG facilities.I/O aviation instruction and simulator operation conducted during the scheduled simulator periods will also be required to support administrative duties as required.At each supported location the Government's Standardization Pilot will conduct a "check ride", IAW the ATM, of the assigned I/Os to train and certify the Contractor I/O in the particular unit's standard operating procedures, tactics, and standards. Upon successful completion of the check-ride the I/O shall provide training within the bounds of AR 95-1 and the airframe respective ATM. I/O's shall capture data through the IOS and provide training assessments and input to AARs in accordance with the local and post flight procedures.Document all individual pilot simulator hour usage on DA Form 2408-12, at the completion of each flight, in accordance with DA PAM 738-751, for subsequent transcription by the owning unit in the devices' logbook daily DA Form 2408-13.Each I/O shall report device utilization by State (to include no-shows, availability rate, scenario development time unique to I/O, and downtime) to QAR at the conclusion of each work week.The I/O will act as a RFMSS Fire Desk Operator in the Army range and facility scheduling system (RF-MSS). The I/O will use RFMSS to schedule every simulator training period. Each simulator period shall be scheduled in RFMSS within 12 hours of receipt. Each simulator training day shall be closed out within 24 hours.Simulator Documentation. Each Simulator is fielded with an Instructor/Operation Manual (IOM) and the additional reference data identified therein. The I/O will utilize the IOM and reference data set in the daily operations of each simulator as required. The I/O will identify corrections needed or shortfalls found in the IOM or in any of the reference data items as an addendum to the monthly performance report. An entry is not required in the monthly report if no required updates have been identified for the IOM during that period.Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years' experience; or a Bachelors Degree and 4 years' experience; or a Masters degree and 2 years' experience Simulator Instructor Operators shall be qualified as an Instructor Pilot in the respective aircraft simulator and an Instrument Flight Examiner, or have documented three years of experience as an Aviation Simulator I/O in the required aircraft device. I/O qualifications shall be made available to the COR upon request. I/Os shall have prior experience training or operating with Army Aviation (or Military Equivalent).USAACE / AATS qualified Instructor Pilot in the airframe for which simulation duties will be performed or have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an I/O in assigned device.Instructor Training Course (ITC) or ABIC qualified; or successfully graduate from a AATS provided ABIC course within 12 months of contractor employee start date.Must meet instructor qualification requirements as defined by the Aviation proponent and IAW TR 350-10, TR 350-70.Qualified as a unit trainer, an instructor pilot or a maintenance test flight examiner with demonstrated simulator operations experience.USAACE qualified Instrument Flight Examiner.Satisfactorily complete unit aircrew training program within 3 months of starting work if not an instructor pilot IAW AR95-1, 4-11e(2) and FR350-1.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance; an interim Secret level security clearance is acceptable to begin work.Preferred Qualifications:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products. Pay Range:Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
