Position: Manufacturing Operations Intern Location: Chattanooga, TN Job Id: 3876 # of Openings: 1 Position Overview: Columbus McKinnon is looking for a Manufacturing Operations Intern to join its global operations team. In this position, you will assist in documenting existing processes, tools, and materials and determining more effective ways to organize and present. Also, you will develop process improvements to assist in material flow, delivery, and procurement, which could include development of a pull system and supermarket for assembly. Location: Chattanooga, TN Plant Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate, document, and assess current manufacturing processes, equipment, and parts related to assembly and machining. Develop systems to help organize and present information more readily. Develop new processes to improve efficiency. Perform formal Kaizen event as part of internship project, including observations, gap analysis, problem-solving and solution approach, rapid experiments, and standard work and metric creation. Other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities: Demonstrates problem-solving ability, including the ability to identify creative and effective solutions and the ability to ask the right questions and help frame logical conclusions. Proven ability to drive results as well as drive better efficiencies by improving and controlling work processes. General manufacturing process knowledge. Attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Required Qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering. Available full time from June 3, 2024 to August 11, 2024.
