They also walk customers through their physician’s dosage and usage instructions to ensure medications are safely and effectively consumed.Duties & Responsibilities:Works with pharmacy manager to meet area specific goals and goals of the departmentEstablishes collaborative pharmacist/patient relationshipsParticipates in training and development for other pharmacists, technicians and internsAssures safe and accurate dispensing of medicationsProvide accurate verification of medicationsIdentifies, mitigates, prevents, and documents problems with prescriptionsProvides counseling to patients on the proper use of their medications, possible side effects and the role of prescribed medications in the overall therapeutic care planAccurately dispenses controlled substances in accordance with the MA and Federal lawsManages all queues in the pharmacy software systemParticipates in risk evaluation and mitigation strategy (REMS) compliance and monitoringUtilize the MassPAT prescription monitoring program for appropriate controlled substance monitoringProvide Medication Therapy ManagementAssist providers with pre-authorization, use of Cover My Meds, if applicableOther Duties & Responsibilities:Reads, understands and complies with all Standards of Conduct, JCAHO policies, etc.Adheres to EBNHC standards of Employee Conduct and all related policies and procedures by:Demonstrating excellent customer service;Showing respect to other employees;Adhering to standards of cultural competency and non-discrimination;Adhering to standards of privacy;Adhering to attendance and other policies and utilizing appropriate notification and other procedures.Upholds procedures and systems to safeguard the confidentiality of all patient and employee information.Upholds safety policies, practices, and procedures including safety, fire safety, electrical safety, proper body mechanics and material handling, office/ergonomic safety and other employee safety measures.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Education:BS Degree in Pharmacy RequiredPharmD Degree HelpfulValid license to practice as a pharmacist in MA RequiredObtain CE credits needed for license renewal as requiredExperience:Previous experience preferredSkills and Abilities:Knowledge of contemporary outpatient pharmacy systems, general clinical knowledge and expertise in traditional therapeutics and patient centered care, excellent comprehension of written policies and procedures, Ability to make appropriate decisions, develop and complete follow-up actions, Ability to motivate and direct staff, Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), Attention to detail or organizational ability, Effective writing, presentation and problem-solving skills, Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, Computer literacy, English proficiency
