CLARION HOSPITAL JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Radiology Technologist FLSA Status: Non-ExemptDepartment: Radiology Job Code: 1023 Revised Date: 12-6-06Position SummaryOperate radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x‑ray films as directed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.Essential FunctionsTake x‑ray images of specified body areas/parts as ordered, following established procedures.Prepare patient and adjust equipment for taking x‑rays. Position and instruct patient regardingprocedures. Administer contrast media when ordered by venous puncture and/or existing IV siteas specified by Radiologist.Transport and take x‑ray images throughout the hospital as needed (operating room, emergencyroom, and patient room).Process films and check for proper positioning technique and patient identification. Prepare anddeliver films to Radiologist for interpretation.Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety,environmental and infection control.Maintain required department record (patient/other), reports, and files.Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies. Keep work areas clean.Maintain supply levels.Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, conferences,workshops, etc.Perform other duties as assigned.Agrees to comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, rules, regulations, and standards of conduct relating to the position and has a duty to report any suspected violations of the law or the standards of conduct to his or her immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Chief Executive Officer.The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major dutiesand responsibilities performed with or without reasonable accommodations by incumbents of this job.
