We are directly across the street from the Bergen County Courthouse and yes, we have parking! We represent men in divorce and family law matters. We believe in helping good people get through the process as best they can and helping children involved not to be collateral damage. We are looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented individual, who has an excellent memory, to be one of our Legal Assistants. As a Legal Assistant, you will be working closely with other staff members and the lead attorney. It will be your job to support the rest of the legal team (attorneys and paralegals). You will be responsible for taking ownership of calendar entries, scanning/emailing the courts and clients, facilitating meetings, drafting documents for the attorneys, investigative research as needed, interacting with clients and so much more as a major member of the support team. We provide extensive training on firm computer platforms and firm operations/systems/protocols. We will give you every tool and resource you need to succeed and ultimately be independently resourceful. Compensation: Total Comp: $40,000 - $50,000 yearly & DOE Responsibilities:• You will be in charge of pleadings, client contact, e-filing, motions, calendaring, facilitating meetings and court appearances, and more• You will have direct interaction with clients and you will assist them in dealing with their pending divorce and family law legal matter(s) Qualifications:• You will have excellent clear, concise, and effective communication skills• You must be competent and proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Gmail, at a minimum.
