A Brief Overview The Headend Engineer is responsible for budgeting, designing, installing, testing, and the configuration of IP video multiplexing, processing and distribution networks, RF and optical distribution networks, IP transport networks and provides guidance, training and direction to regional headend personnel ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality analog and digital video, internet and voice signals. Core Responsibilities Designs, installs and optimizes RF network providing downstream and upstream connectivity of optical components, CMTS and other related equipment.Installs, configures and maintains MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and IP video multiplexing, encoding, processing, transportation network equipment to provide reliable signal delivery to distribution components.Works closely with regional engineering team in planning, budgeting, installing, testing and deploying distribution network enhancements to provide increased capacity and reliability.Plans, budgets, installs and insures wiring, labeling and equipment setup for support launches of new services.Monitors and analyzes utilization data and network performance to implement and coordinate actions to maintain required network performance and capacity guidelines.Provides training to system technicians on the use of network performance monitoring and surveillance tools to help them maintain and troubleshoot the overall operation of the video, data and voice networks.Maintains working knowledge of all regulatory requirements and keeps required logs, records and other documentation in compliance with Cable One, FCC, OSHA and other regulatory technical requirements.Maintains all headend facilities and ensures that they are kept in a professional and organized manner and free of unnecessary equipment and debris.Monitors, maintains and oversees installation of environmental systems including but not limited to, all power systems and air conditioning.Designs and maintains floor plans, elevation and wiring diagrams within headend facilities.This position has the expectation and responsibility to take on other duties needed to help drive our purpose, fulfill our brand principles, and abide by our organization's values.Diversity lies in the communities we serve and among the associates who dedicate themselves to ensure our continued success.
