Manages staff members, support vendors and high level projects. Establishes effective communication with appropriate partners and managers to ensure effective information technology needs are met. Responsible for resource allocations and special projects including budgeting. Essential Functions Directs IT activities for CDS/CDSA/CDSF; directs operations of firm-wide information systems, including telecommunications and data networks. Provides hands-on involvement and support of technology projects and accountable for ultimate success of such projects. Establishes technology standards and methods of evaluating applications; plans and executes feasibility studies. Surveys new and/or emerging technologies; prepares ROI analyses for Partner review; develops plans for budget, acquisition and installation of equipment and software. Manages and directs the work of the IT staff; leads the assessment and training of IT staff members; oversees the IT training for all team members. Manages IT vendor relationships. Provides well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and accountability. Develops and maintains an annual IT budget. Develops and maintains a Disaster Recovery Plan and Data Security Plan. Ensures technology utilization providing a fast, accurate, and secure method to access information in a highly efficient and effective manner. Ensures service support in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. Keeps informed of new IT developments and trends, including with the accounting industry; makes recommendations to Partners on desirable additions or replacements. Creates, maintains, and enforces written policies and procedures regarding all computer operations in the Information Technology Department and throughout the firm. Serves as the Chair of our IT Committee. Performs annual evaluation and surveys to gauge satisfaction of users. Performs other duties as assigned by Partners. Other Functions Promote CDS’s additional services and present at client seminars. Actively involved in community, volunteer and/or industry organizations, preferably in a leadership role. Network with local business owners and managers to promote CDS. Leads firm committees and initiatives as directed by Partners. Mentor staff. Education, Experience, and Skills Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Network Administration, Information Systems or other similar technical discipline. Minimum five years of computer systems experience with three at a management level. Experience in small to mid-sized companies preferred. Previous industry experience preferred. Knowledge of business objectives and strategies. Proven management and leadership skills for directing staff. Proven project management skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent time management, presentation and organizational skills. Ability to interpret and apply complex technical information. Knowledge of systems design and implementation in a database environment. Knowledge of technical and user-related aspects of a personal computer environment. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff and clients. Must be confident, able to make decisions quickly and work with minimal supervision.
