Corrections OfficerSummit County is recruiting a full-time Corrections Officer to perform law enforcement duties related to the security, safety, order, operation, and maintenance of county jail facilities, including incarceration and detention of prisoners. May hire from one of the following levels depending on submitted qualifications and experience.Minimum & Special Qualifications:Corrections Officer I: High school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of, or admittance to Peace Officers Standards and Training Academy (POST) within six months of hire, must be a US Citizen, at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Utah driver's license, work rotating shifts, and complete 40 hours of training per year to maintain certification.Salary Range: $20.26 - $28.37/hour.Corrections Officer II: High school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of POST Certification, one year of progressively responsible experience performing above and related duties, must be a US Citizen, at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Utah driver's license, work rotating shifts, and complete 40 hours of training per year to maintain certification.Salary Range: $22.75 - $31.86/hour.Corrections Officer III: High school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of POST Certification, two years of progressively responsible experience performing above and related duties, must be a US Citizen, at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Utah driver's license, work rotating shifts, and complete 40 hours of training per year to maintain certification.Salary Range: $25.56 - $35.80/hour.Anyone applying for this position, may not have been convicted of an offense involving dishonesty, unlawful sexual conduct, physical violence and/or domestic violence; convicted of the unlawful use, sale, or possession of a controlled substance prior to five years from the date of conviction or last usage; convicted of a crime for which the applicant could have been punished by imprisonment in a federal penitentiary of this or another state. Must successfully complete a background investigation, physical agility testing and psychological evaluation.
