PRODUCTION / MANUFACTURING ENGINEER Prime Responsibility: Under general direction from the President, supply the Production and Quality Control departments with technical support and process authority. Review new designs for producibility and process applicability. Foward planning of Production resources. Develop new processes, techniques and tooling in support of the manufacturing efforts.Typical Duties: Learn, understand and become the company authority for all manufacturing and test processes. Solve manufacturing problems expeditiously in support of the Production department. Maintain documentation for control of critical processes throughout the company. Develop and implement new processes, process improvements. Develop and implement manufacturing and test tooling/fixtures. Perform forward planning for new sales orders to ensure all necessary equipment, processes, tooling, documentation and weld schedules are in place to support manufacturing and delivery schedules. Troubleshoot and repair production and test equipment. Improve workflow efficiencies. Ensure that production and test processes are being followed fully and correctly. Perform failure analyses on production hardware, process failures; thoroughly implement corrective actions. Write and/or review all controlled shop travelers. Write reports as necessary to support critical issues, corrective acations, research, failure investigations. Review drawing packages for manufacturability and proper implementation of processes and manufacturing techniques. Conduct critical training programs for Production, Quality Control and Engineering personnel. Support customer meetings with expertise in the areas outlined herein. Perform other technical duties, reporting and supoort as deemed appropriate by the President. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read, write and understand English at the high level necessary to perform the duties of this classification. Ability to read, understand and review engineering drawings, including tolerancing, orthogonal views, military specifications. Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions. Ability to provide clear oral instructions and generate detailed written instructions. "Hands-on" work ethic; able to learn and apply existing processes and manufacturing techniques to manufacture pressure transducers, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment, experiment with techniques. Demonstrated cooperative, helpful, but assertive personality. Scientific method / analytical approach to solving problems, finding root cause. Good dexterity with two hands; excellent vision in both eyes (20/20 either naked eye or corrected); no color blindness. Capable of physical requirements of walking about and using test or assembly equipment on light-duty manufacturing floor; minimal to moderate lifting of equipment, tooling; desk/office/computer work; ground and bench level servicing, in potentially awkward positions, of various equipment. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verity identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification work form upon hire. Desired Qualifications: Experience working in a manufacturing environment with exacting processes and procedures, stringent quality control requirements. Hands-on experience with equipment and machinery repair and troubleshooting, both mechanical and electrical. B.S. or B.A. degree in engineering from ABET accredited college or university. Experience in an ISO 9000 / AS9100 quality system work environment. Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software, generating engineering drawings. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project. Working knowledge of instrumentation, electro-mechanical, electro-magnetic devices. Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would establish possession of the knowledge and abilities listed above.
