The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, is seeking a full-time BC Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist at the Assistant/Associate or Full Professor level to join our Obstetrics and Gynecology faculty. We are ideally seeking a candidate who is a leader in the field and will assume a leadership role, with the opportunity to fill an endowed chair role with a research interest in birth equity or other research interests. The Obstetrics and Gynecology group at Rush University Medical Center includes academic generalists, OBGYN hospitalists, and sub-specialists in maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, reproductive endocrinology/infertility, and family planning. The department works closely with advanced practice providers and colleagues in neonatology, anesthesiology, other medical specialties, nursing, and ancillary staff. The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Rush is a consult-based practice that provides comprehensive services for all aspects of high-risk pregnancies. Deliveries are performed by hospitalist group with 24-hour coverage of labor and delivery. The division is seeking new faculty to add to the development of an integrated, multidisciplinary, value-based approach to high-risk obstetric care. The newly developed division at Rush has goals of developing a strong focus on research and education. The division provides prenatal diagnostic procedures including amniocentesis and CVS for the area healthcare networks. Rush is home to the Fetal Neonatal Center and serves as a referral center for complex fetal anomalies and performs fetal procedures such as intrauterine transfusion, shunt placement, selective/multifetal reduction, amnioreductions and complex deliveries. The ultrasound unit with plans to accommodate a growing patient population contains five E10 machines with Viewpoint software fully integrated to Epic EMR. The unit is fully staffed with a seasoned group of certified sonographers. There are presently 2 dedicated genetic counselors onsite, an integrated fetal center and a cohesive team of 3 MFM physicians recruiting a fourth. Future goals for the division include establishing a Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship program and growing a robust research sector. Applicants will also be actively involved in medical student and resident educational activities. Qualified applicants will have the opportunity to take on leadership positions at the divisional, departmental and institutional levels.
