Maintenance Supervisor-Benton Mill Benton Mill, a subsidiary of Independent Stave Company, is seeking a Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day needs and requirements by ensuring that high-performance maintenance services are provided to all internal plant departments to meet the safety, quality, and production goals. In this role, you must also be able to work side by side with your maintenance teams on various projects and equipment repairs. Through their effective leadership and vision, the Maintenance Manager will develop and facilitate all short and long-term strategies in the areas of continuous improvement and innovation, helping us achieve our mission: To craft world-class oak barrels and other cooperage products so our employees, customers, and communities flourish.Salary: Depending on experience and skills. The compensation range, including base, bonuses, and profit sharing, is 110K-125K. Essential Functions of the Maintenance Manager: Directs & performs many maintenance repairs of plant equipment, machines, buildings, and grounds with your team members and manages the work and CRMS software system. Leads all continuous improvement project-related equipment installs and repairs. Maintains all necessary maintenance records and prepares required reports to monitor productivity, OEE, and PM effectiveness. Drive improvement. Contracts with outside vendors for equipment repairs and abnormal maintenance. Assures that all contractors are trained in safety matters and that insurance certificates are on file. Develops and controls the budget for all maintenance areas. Forecasts maintenance plan (personnel, equipment, and space requirements). Maintains a preventive maintenance program for machines, equipment, buildings, and grounds. Must maintain PM records for all equipment and recommend changes to improve OEE based on trends. Maintains tool crib for maintenance. Establishes an adequate inventory of replacement and repair parts for equipment and machines. Oversees procurement of necessary components. Participate in establishing, maintaining, and training an effective plant emergency organization. Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, and developing maintenance personnel and apprenticeship employees. Assist in the continuing training and development of maintenance personnel and ensure that safety procedures and safe work practices are followed. Completes annual performance reviews and monitors the performance of personnel. Stays current with "state of the art" equipment, software, and maintenance techniques. Participates in understanding and adhering to OSHA and EPA regulations. Ensures equipment and processes meet all requirements and initiates safety review on all new methods and equipment. Ensure all Environmental Requirements and OSHA Regulations are met. Basic Qualifications of the Maintenance Manager: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (Or equivalent combination of education and experience) Five years of experience in a Manufacturing Environment Two years of prior Managerial experience Knowledge of safe working practices (Lockout Tagout, PPE, confined space) Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship Preferred Qualifications of the Maintenance Manager: Engineering or Technical Degree preferred Strong knowledge in the electrical and mechanical fields, equipment and machine design, and building and plant maintenance techniques is required. In addition, knowledge of structural and architectural matters is helpful. Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations, including OSHA and EPA requirements, is required. Prior experience developing company policies, procedures, and budget control.
