Senior Project Engineer

Description:
Role Purpose: Provide technical support comprising of general engineering principles and theories for products manufactured by the company. These functions involve preparation of specifications and improvement of existing products to validate compliance with product strategies regarding form, function, quality, and cost, all of which are used to capture and retain selected business opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Perform research and analysis to support design process, assist with planning product strategies including New Markets, and creating departmental goals Apply expert product knowledge to facilitate problem solve and mitigate risk assessment for disposition of discrepant product features identified during Material Review Board (MRB) activities Develop and continually refine/improve product line to be superior in meeting desired satisfaction for form, function, and quality Assure product design specifications are established to satisfy customer application requirements Investigate Request for Engineering Change (ECO / REC) forms submitted by various groups within the company and establish design verification assessment to determine acceptance Submit product requisitions to generate supply chain requisitions within corporate computer system for procurement, tracking and costing exercises Conduct value analysis and/or value engineering to facilitate cost feasibility studies Evaluate product performance on in-house experimental laboratory test stand equipment and on pilot field test program conducted by customer. Additional Information: Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, and business correspondence, and prepare presentation material. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, suppliers, and where applicable the public Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Other Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in the use of Excel, Word, Power Point and related software. Effectively utilize company CAD software and navigate the PLM system Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
