The Rapid is looking for Facilities, Building and Grounds Technician to join our team! Hiring Range: $ 26.26 up to $31.97 per hour (pay range dependent on experience and certifications). POSITION SUMMARY This is a safety-sensitive position that provides support to the Facilities Director. Building and Grounds Technician provides inspection, maintenance, and preventive maintenance. basic construction needs for all ITP buildings and grounds including bus shelter and bus stop sign construction, assembly, rehabilitation, and installation. Occasional overtime is required for emergency situations, snow plowing, etc. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Compressed natural gas station maintenance Building electrical and lighting systems Building HVAC equipment and controls Plumbing Carpentry Masonry/concrete Landscape and irrigation systems Knowledge of compressors and motors All work associated with bus shelter assembly, rehabilitation and installation All work associated with bus stop sign maintenance Facility maintenance equipment operation, service and repair Snow removal Other duties and responsibilities as assigned POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Competency Statement(s) Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task. Responsible - Ability to work with limited supervision and be held accountable or answerable for one's conduct while maintaining a professional attitude. Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety. Diversity Oriented - Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type. Honesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: Two or more years of related experience in general shop and/or building maintenance is preferred with experience of compressors and motors. Computer Skills: Computer skills with the ability to learn new programs as required. Certificates & Licenses: All positions require valid Michigan Driver ' s License; (CDL) with endorsements optional. Other Requirements: Must provide own hand tools as necessary to perform the assigned work. Must pass Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment physical and drug screening.
