Dallas Country Club is currently seeking qualified individuals for Pastry Cooks. DCC, founded in 1896, is the most exclusive and prestigious private club in the area and we pride ourselves on hiring the best of the best. Our Clubhouse, featuring 3 full-service restaurants, a large ballroom and several banquet facilities, recently opened complementing our existing food and beverage outlets. DCC has several full service kitchens, a pastry shop and a butcher shop. If you consider yourself the best of the best, please apply. High volume experience recommended. Pastry experience recommended. Demonstration and ownership in any and all tasks needed to carry out DCC Service Standards. Self-motivated nature while serving Members. Creative and innovative nature that allows employee to successfully multi-task while serving multiple Member needs in an organized and efficient manner. Knowledge of pastry production principles. Cake and other pastry decoration skills. Able to use kitchen equipment including large-capacity mixer, ice cream machine, convection oven, proofer, robo coupe or other food processor, 40-gallon steam kettle and steam cabinet. Decorate pastry items for special events such as buffets and receptions. Maintains the highest sanitary conditions. Maintains high standards of quality appearance for all food prepared and served. Understands and consistently follows proper sanitation practices including those for personal hygiene Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef Education and/or Experience Bi-lingual a plus High School graduate or GED. Certificate or diploma from a recognized bakery and pastry culinary arts training or degree program. At least three years of experience as a pastry chef in a retail, club, hotel, restaurant, or institutional setting. Licenses and Special Requirements Food safety certification. Certification from American Culinary Federation or other applicable hospitality association. Physical Demands and Work Environment Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach. Push, pull or lift to 50 pounds. Continuous repetitive motions. Work in hot, humid, and noisy environment.
