The life skills Coach has the duty of supporting individuals with developmental, intellectual and other disabilities as they make choices about their lives and play valued roles in their communities. They encourage the people they serve to explore what they want out of life, develop and enhance their life skills, and to chart their own journeys. To learn more about this position, please read the summarized list of duties below. Challenging individuals to grow in an interdepend world. Ensuring communication with supervisor's and other team members is clear, concise and honest. sharing and contributing ideas, knowledge and questions. Being aware of and complement in dealing with medical and emergent needs e.g. seizures, health concerns, allergies fires, server weather, etc. Attend to personal care needs, such as bathing, hygiene, toileting, grooming etc. Completing progress notes, goal reports and other clinical documentation by assigned deadline. Help to develop cognitive, emotional and life functioning abilities of each consumer for the purpose of rehabilitation and to positivity impact their lives. Provide on-site job training and support services, service plan implementation, advocacy, linkage, and transportation as needed. Communicate on a regular basis with Community Support Specialist/QIDP's regarding consumers' needs, problems and progress. High school diploma or GED is required, Prior experience in this field is a plus but not essential. Willing to train the right person, in addition, need to be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Must have reliable transportation as well.
