Monument Chemical in Brandenburg, KY is seeking qualified candidates for a Utilities Production Engineer.DUTIES The Utilities Production Engineer will provide engineering support and ensure safe and efficient operations of the Brandenburg Utilities. Utilities includes the powerhouse area, potable water system, wastewater system, nitrogen plant, fire suppression system, instrument and plant air generation. Powerhouse/Waste Water Treatment Operations - Ensure safe and efficient generations of steam, instrument air, plant air, potable water, and nitrogen to all areas of the Plant by monitoring daily boiler operations; managing waste & hazardous waste; scheduling special work for operations; managing potable water surveys and sampling; ensuring Water Treatment Plant is operational; coordinating outages of water, air, or all plant; ensuring Fire Water system is operational; monitoring and documenting completion of monthly safety equipment inspection and safety meetings, conducting annual emergency drills/HazCom, ER training, and SOP review; managing MOC system and ensuring all operators sign MOCs and other administrative support activities. Responsible for the daily and monthly utilities balance (steam, nitrogen and plant air) as well as maintaining record of areas utilities consumptions and respective cost. Powerhouse Maintenance - Initiate Work Orders and coordinate all maintenance repairs, control maintenance work within budget requirements; implement changes for MOCs and CARs; and oversee boiler overhauls including scheduling the boiler inspector's visit. Training of Personnel - help Maintenance Supervisor Lead to conduct department orientation for new hires, Operator Certification, Re-Certification process, ensure all operators get DOW certified and continued training (Drinking Water). Waste Systems Hazardous and Non Hazardous- Ensure all paperwork is in order to load, unload, and transfer waste; coordinate waste coming to the Haz Waste Storage from all areas in the plant; coordinate all shipments with carriers, operations, and security; ensure that all waste are disposed of in the proper manner and before expiration date; complete monthly HON test of M105 pump and keep all M-107 records and schedule waste to unload in M-107 and burn as necessary. Fire/Sprinkler Systems- support sprinkler system inspections, testing, maintenance and repairs; Fire Extinguisher inspection; Fire Alarm System; FM Global Representative and notify FM Global when there is a disruption within the system. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering. A minimum of 3-5 years of utilities operations experience, chemical plant operations or similar engineering role. Experience with PSM a plus. Demonstrated analytical and project management skills. Good organizational, time management, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Must have good problem-solving skills experience on collecting and using data to justify process improvements. Must be willing to participate in our 24/7 production facility call out policy, when needed. Ability to function and communicate with all levels of the organization. Delta V experience is a plus.
