Dedham Health and Athletic is looking to hire innovative, energetic, and hard-working Assistant Camp Director to help create the best summer ever! DATES: Camp runs June 19th September 1st HOURS: 7:30AM-6:00PM and 5-10 hours per week (flexible) in May and early June for training and orientation. Must be 21 or older. Qualifications Experience working as a camp counselor, a classroom teacher, or other group setting with Campers 4-14 years. Experience delivering and/or developing indoor and outdoor activities for campers. Ability to take initiative and accomplish necessary tasks in a timely manner without being asked Demonstrate clear communication, inclusion of all, and an open-mindedness to learn through new experiences reliable transportation Available full-time for camp season (June through September 1st) Available part-time (5-10 flexible hrs/wk) for certain weeks in the spring A satisfactory criminal background check (CORI and SORI) Ability to work outside in variable weather conditions with children Must be 21 or older. Responsibilities: This is a seasonal role with a schedule of 40-hours a week Monday through Friday during the camp season June 19th-September 1st, and 5-10 hours per week (flexible) in May and early June for training and orientation. Reporting to the Camp Director, that oversees the day-to-day of the Camp (campers ages 4-14) Assisting the Camp Director in lesson planning activities for the summer. Works with Camp counselors to troubleshoot problems, resolve conflict, and ensure the day goes smoothly. Additionally, the assistant camp director may serve as alternate Camp Director during the camp season when the Director is not on-site, and must be comfortable assuming a leadership role and supervising camp staff and campers. Oversee parent drop-off and pick-up of campers. Communicate with camper parents/guardians regarding their camper experience.
