GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The Electrician shall be responsible for performing a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Installation and repair of a variety of electrical equipment, such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment. Perform work from drawings, layouts, blueprints, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment. Test electrical currents or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment. Must be proficient in bending and installing conduit. Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions. Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures. Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces. Assist others as part of the maintenance team, as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position requires no supervisor or manager responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate. Must maintain a Georgia Electrician Non-Restricted and Low Voltage License. Seven (7) years of related experience with facility electrical systems maintenance functions, environmental factors, and related procedures. Must have knowledge of standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment. Must have knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the electrical field. Must have a working knowledge of and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. Must be a self-starter, team player, detail oriented, and possess strong organizational skills. Must possess a valid driver's license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment and to obtain access to federal installations.
