Spirit Shop Manager The Position The Spirit Shop Manager is responsible for all aspects of running the on-campus and online store, including but not limited to handling customer sales and returns, ordering merchandise, preparing the daily deposit, and performing inventory counts. Candidate must be able to work independently using previously gained retail and customer service experience.The Spirit Shop Manager will report to the Chief Financial Officer and Accounting Manager.This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Candidate will be expected to work approximately 18-24 hours per week during the school year, with limited work over the summer. Occasional nights and weekends required. Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required.• At least one year of retail management or experience in handling all aspects of a retail store.• Knowledge and skill in applying retail sales principles.• Competency with Lightspeed POS or similar system and Microsoft Office.• Knowledge of cash-handling principles and practices.• Ability to communicate effectively and courteously.• Detail oriented and organized.• Positive attitude. Primary Duties & Responsibilities • Greet customers and assist them in selecting merchandise.• Handle all sales transactions and returns.• Reconcile daily sales totals to payments received and submit daily deposits.• Identify vendors; select and order merchandise that appeals to the Holy Cross community.• Verify orders as they are received and approve payment of invoices.• Price items using predetermined profit margins.• Monitor inventory levels to main adequate stock of merchandise.• Complete semi-annual inventory counts; maintain inventory control.• Maintain a store that is clean, neat, and inviting to customers; regularly sweep floors, dust shelving, etc.; straighten and fold merchandise daily.• Select items to be sold online and process online sales for customer pick-up.• Work with school's communications department to promote the store/online store through school social media channels and newsletters on a regular basis.• Keep consistent store hours and post them on the school website.• Must be able to move and lift boxes of merchandise; requires frequent bending, stooping, and walking. • Perform other duties as assigned. Compensation Hourly rate commensurate with qualifications and experience.
