IT Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage and maintain network, servers, backups and backup media Installs, modifies and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical advice and support to system users. Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on users' premises. Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components, and office applications. Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users' requirements. Provides telephone, in-person, and online support to end-users Manages work station and practices good housekeeping techniques. May be required to work overtime. Pursues every job with drive and determination. Uses logic to solve problems with effective solutions. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of Unix/Linux, Microsoft Windows 7/10/11, OpenLDAP/ Active Directory. Vast knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012-2019, Meraki router/firewall platforms. In depth knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6, strong networking skills a must. Must be available for on call/after hours emergencies and participate in a rotating on call schedule. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and able to work leaned or crouched over for extended periods of time. Must possess excellent customer-service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with end-users, written or verbal. Ability to present oneself with professional appearance and behavior in accordance with ATC dress code and SDI Code of Conduct. Ability to meet all SDI/ATC safety requirements. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to read, communicate, and understand the English language. Ability to communicate effectively with managers and peers, both written and verbally. Adhere to established company procedures and policies, work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed. Education, Experience, Certification, and Training Bachelors Degree or equivalent industry experience. Certifications such as MCP/MCSA/MCSE and or RHCP/RHCE a plus, but not required Location, Physical Requirements, and PPE Office: Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 25 lbs., perceive depth and operate a motor vehicle. Conditions may include working inside and/or outside. May work around machines with moving parts and moving objects. Working near radiant and electrical energy. Working closely with others or working alone. Working extended or irregular hours and travelling by all possible modes of transportation. Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computers and related equipment, calculators, copiers, fax machines, telephone and vehicles. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed shoes, coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs. Shop: Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs and ladders. Hear with aid, see, perceive depth, write, and count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Conditions include working inside and outside in all types of weather. Working around moving objects, moving vehicles and machines with moving parts. Working around radiant and electrical energy. Working closely with others, working alone, working extended or irregular hours. Working environment may include but not limited to excessive or intermittent noise, fumes, smoke, gases, grease, dust, oil and solvents. Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but are not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, forklift, pallet jack, hand tools, power tools, air tools and telephone. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed boots, welding leathers, gloves and ear plugs or muffs. Field: Ability to walk, stand, sit ,kneel, push ,stoop, crawl, twist, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs and ladders ,identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry 70 lbs and over, perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle and operate motor equipment. Conditions include working inside and outside in all types of weather. Working around moving objects, moving vehicles and machines with moving parts. Working around radiant and electrical energy. Working closely with others, working alone, working extended or irregular hours and travelling by all possible modes of transportation. Working environment may include but not limited to excessive, intermittent or constant noise, fumes, smoke, gases, grease, dust, oils and solvents.
