JOB SUMMARY: This is for 2nd and 3rd shift. Both shifts have a differential of 2nd shift $1.50 added to base pay. 3rd Shift is $2.50 added to base pay. The Vacuum Casting Operator will process investment molds through mold prep, preheat, mold handling, and vacuum casting as part of the main production activities of the business. The operator will be expected to maintain existing operator proficiency, be flexible to company needs and culture of the business. JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Prepare shelled molds for casting by dewaxing molds, performing mold insulation, and other casting prep tasks Mold Handle: Load and unload molds to and from the Preheat and Casting furnaces Use best vacuum induction melting and casting practices to both melt and successfully pour preheated molds Retrieve molds from the furnace post pour and apply various post cast mold treatments Cast both directionally solidified and equiax molds Work closely with foundry services personnel to eliminate variation in the mold prep operations. Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment prescribed for that area Maintaining appropriate work flow and prioritization of work as directed by the supervisor or process owner Maintaining the cleanliness and basic working condition of the area and equipment. All other duties as assigned JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Must have at least 2 year of combined experience as a Vacuum Induction Melter / Casting Operator, Lead, Trainer, or Supervisor at a facility that casts Nickel or Cobalt based superalloys Traditional Equiax vacuum investment casting experience is a requirement and a candidate with experience in melting and casting Directionally Solidified (DS / SC) products is a huge plus. Familiar with basic vacuum practice and compatible materials of use when melting under vacuum Understand and can demonstrate or explain the proper way and required tools and materials to build out a melt box, pack a crucible, and/or liner Understand and can explain the basic principles of vacuum casting, pumps, induction melting, and casting equipment and tools Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow all safety procedures for the department Must be able to write, speak and read fluent English Moderate to High level of physical condition. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to comprehend and follow detailed technical instructions PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to continuously stand or sit Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift repetitively. Ability to wear a respirator Ability to lift 50 pounds easily HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL: Triax is committed to providing a safe workplace and establishing a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility All employees are required to follow established safety policies We expect and require every employee to work safely COMPENSATION: This position is a direct labor hourly position with full eligibility for Overtime and DL bonus and incentive compensation as made available by the business Relocation may be made available, when necessary for qualified and selected candidates outside the PHX metro area The employee, based on their level of combined experience and education will earn a base hourly wage between $25/HR and $35+/HR.
